Vehicle Vs. Pedestrian Investigation: Southbound Glenn Highway

At 3:57 PM, all lanes of the inbound Glenn Highway are open.

On April 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM, Anchorage Police and medics with the Anchorage Fire Department were dispatched to the inbound Glenn Highway north of the Muldoon exit in reference to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision. Initial indications are that a tractor trailer was being driven southbound on the Glenn Highway when it struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to a hospital for what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.

One inbound lane is currently open while investigators with the Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) process the scene, however short intermittent complete closures should be expected. The other lanes are expected to remain closed for several hours.

The driver remained on scene and has been cooperative with the investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
