investigative support unit (isu)

The Investigative Support Unit is comprised of current patrol officers.  ISU assists detectives, crime suppression units, and patrol shifts in locating and apprehending high-risk violent offenders.  These normally include homicide suspects, shooting suspects, robbery suspects, sex offenders, child predators, and vehicle theft/eluding suspects. ISU has the ability to devote the appropriate amount of time needed for apprehending these offenders; time the Patrol Division simply does not have.
