Law Enforcement review

The  State of Alaska Alcoholic Beverage Control Board  (AMCO) administers the permit process for a variety of events. The details of the permit process and all permit forms can be found at: https://www.commerce.alaska.gov/web/amco

​Many AMCO event permits require a “Law Enforcement Review" before the permit application will be accepted by AMCO. The Anchorage Police Department (APD) can provide this review for events held in its jurisdiction. (For an event outside of APD’s jurisdiction we will refer you to the local law enforcement agency for the location of the event.)

​To obtain a Law Enforcement Review from APD applicants must do the following:​

  1. Complete the appropriate current event permit form. (found at https://www.commerce.alaska.gov/web/amco)

  2. Submit the completed form by email to APDEventPermit@muni.org or in person at 716 W 4th Ave.

  3. Pay the associated fee for the Law Enforcement Review before the application will be processed.

  4. Allow 3 business days for the Law Enforcement Review to be processed.

Note:

  • At the conclusion of the Law Enforcement Review, applications submitted in person must be picked up by the applicant at 716 W 4th Ave.

  • Applications submitted via email will be returned to the applicant via an email reply to the email address used to submit the application.

About Law Enforcement Review fees:

  • Permit applications submitted in person: Law Enforcement Review fees must be paid at the time the application is submitted.

  • Permit applications submitted by email: Law Enforcement Review fees must be paid over the phone from 8 am- 5 pm M-F at 786-2429.

  • Law Enforcement Review Fees must be paid before the application will be processed.

  • Law Enforcement Review fees are separate from any AMCO fees.

  • Law Enforcement Review fees may vary based on the duration of the event, but typically $75

  • Law Enforcement Review fees are nonrefundable.
