Vehicle vs Pedestrian Investigation: Northbound Glenn Hwy at S Peters Creek

At 11:16 PM on May 13, 2023, Anchorage Police responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision Northbound on the Glenn Highway at the South Peters Creek Exit. The adult male pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Initial indications are that the adult male pedestrian entered the roadway and was struck by a pickup truck that was being driven Northbound on the Glenn Highway.
The driver of the pickup stayed at the scene and has been cooperative with police. No citations have been issued; the investigation is ongoing.

Anchorage Police Department Swing Shift Officers and Officers with the traffic unit are on the scene of a vehicle versus pedestrian accident with injuries on the Glenn Highway at the South Peters Creek exit.
The Major Collision Investigations Unit (MCIU) has responded to process the scene; a drone will be used during the investigation.
All lanes Northbound are currently closed. Drivers traveling Northbound are being diverted to the Old Glenn Highway at South Birchwood. This closure is expected to last several hours.
