Stabbing Investigation

Update at 2:45 AM on 4/28/24:

The suspect was remanded at the McLaughlin Youth Center (MYC); charges were forwarded to the Division of Juvenile Justice.  The motive behind the stabbing remains under investigation.

Original on 4/27/24:

At 9:59 PM on April 27, 2024, Anchorage Police were notified of an assault that had occurred outside.  Initial indications are that a teenaged juvenile was stabbed in the upper body.  He made his way to a nearby residence where police and AFD medics responded in the area of N Bragaw Street and McPhee Avenue.  The victim was transported to a local hospital with what may be life threatening injuries.

One teenaged juvenile, located at another residence, was detained and is being transported to the Anchorage Police Department for questioning by detectives.  Police believe this is an isolated incident and not a random act.
