REDDI REPORT LEADS TO ARREST

APD CASE: 25-5035

At 8:23 PM on February 15, 2025, a citizen called in a REDDI report to APD Dispatch regarding a gray truck driving erratically northbound on the Seward Highway. Dispatch aired a locate for the vehicle over the radio.

An officer with the APD Impaired Driving Enforcement Unit was able to locate the vehicle traveling at 107 mph northbound on the Seward Highway near Rabbit Creek. The officer conducted a traffic stop and upon contact with the driver, 36-year-old Alexander Otto, the officer noticed signs of impairment. The officer administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs), and the decision was made to charge Otto with Operating Under the Influence. 

Otto was transported to Anchorage Correctional Complex (ACC) for processing. While there he provided a breath sample that showed his breath content was over two times the legal limit. He was remanded on the charge of OUI.
