LARGE POLICE PRESENCE: 3200 block Penland Pkw

UPDATE: Dec 22, 2024 At 10:28 PM on Dec. 21, 2024, officers responded to the 3200 block of Penland Pkw in reference to a disturbance with a weapon. Upon arrival officers were able to take the suspect into custody at which time officers were made aware that a male, later identified as 46-year-old Perry Achayok, with an existing warrant was located inside the residence. Officers were able to take Perry Achayok into custody and he was remanded at the Anchorage Correctional Complex (ACC) on his existing warrant.

ORIGINAL NARRATIVE: There is a large police presence around the 3200 block Penland Pkw. Please follow officers’ instructions if you are in the area.  If you do not need to be in the vicinity, please avoid it and seek alternative routes until further notice. Depending on the situation, our response may require using a variety of tactics and tools, to include the drone.
