Injury Collision Investigation at W 6th Avenue and C Street

At 10:40 PM on July 3, 2024, Anchorage Police responded to a vehicle collision at W 6th Avenue and C Street.  Initial indications are that a motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on W 6th when he struck a southbound Tesla.  The adult male motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle.  He was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

There were four occupants in the Tesla.  One adult male passenger was transported for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Major Collision Investigations Unit (MCIU) has responded to process the scene.  While that occurs W 6th Avenue between C and D Streets, and C Street between W 5th and W 6th Avenues, will be shut down.  Please use an alternate route.

The cause of the collision, to include who had the red and green light signals, is still under investigation.
