The deceased has been identified as 57-year-old Fred Mosquito.  Next-of-kin notification procedures have been completed.

At approximately 5:16 PM on Nov. 29, 2024, officers assigned to Swing Shift Patrol and medics with the Anchorage Fire Department responded to 34th Ave. & C St. in reference to a Vehicle versus Pedestrian collision.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a Jeep Gladiator was southbound on C St. when it struck an adult male pedestrian. The adult male pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Jeep Gladiator remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The southbound lanes of C St. will be closed at 34th Ave. while investigators with the Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) process the scene. All southbound traffic at C St. is being diverted to 34th Ave. Please use alternative routes.
